There have been confirmed cases of measles within Surrey and we therefore encourage our patients to ensure their vaccinations are up to date. If you are not immunised or uncertain, please contact us. Children, young adults and women of child bearing age are particularly at risk. Please see the leaflet for information on affected groups and the vaccination. Measles leaflet
PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
Patients who would like to become more involved in the Patient Group can follow the links on the website to Patient Group or should ask to speak to the Practice Manager. The group would gladly welcome suggestions for areas in which they can help support patients and would especially welcome new members to inform discussion and action. Please do have a say in your healthcare. It is vital that the practice works hand in hand with its patients.
HEALTH CHECKS SERVICE
We are now offering health checks to patients aged between 40 and 74 who are not already being monitored with a serious condition. The check is to assess your risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and dementia. If there are any warning signs, then together we can do something about it.
The check should take about 20-30 minutes and is based on straightforward questions and measurements such as age, gender, family history, height, weight and blood pressure. There will also be a simple blood test to measure your cholesterol level.
Following the check, you will receive free personalised advice about what you can do to stay healthy. For more information please see the website: http://www.healthcheck.nhs.uk/
If you wish to make an appointment with one of our health care assistants please see reception or call the surgery at your convenience.
